VRT
Over the past four years, VRT (the Flemish radio and television broadcaster) had focused on building a streaming platform and a state-of-the-art news site. Meanwhile, their main flagship site, VRT.be, was left behind, gradually becoming an unsurprising, labyrinthine corporate site.
They asked me to create a concept that would breathe new life into the website, integrate more cross-site content from their other platforms, and make the experience more appealing to the general public. A fresh visual update was also urgently needed.
The process required time and careful alignment—gathering requirements, coordinating stakeholders, and ensuring everyone was on board with the new direction we were taking.

We began by engaging all major stakeholders to define the site’s primary goals and analyzing existing site statistics to identify bottlenecks, visitor exit points, and the most searched-for information. Based on these insights, I started wireframing the main pages and components, exploring a new way to present information while also integrating more content from VRT’s streaming and news platforms.

With VRT’s established brand as our foundation, we developed a detailed digital style guide to ensure consistency across the site’s content and interface components.

Rather than sticking to a purely corporate site, we blended corporate updates with content from VRT’s streaming and news platforms, creating an experience that appeals to both general audiences and professional visitors.

Designs were created for every major screen size, ensuring visitors enjoy a smooth, consistent experience on any device.
In collaboration with the project manager, I managed the public tender process for the new website, reviewing submitted proposals and selecting a skilled development partner. I then worked closely with their team to ensure my designs were effectively implemented and integrated.
